New hotel boom in Vilnius, Lithuania
There will be several new hotels opening this year in Vilnius, making the city more competitive as a meetings and events destination.
With three new hotels representing international chains and an expansion project currently underway at an existing hotel.
Courtyard by Marriott new built property is set to open by April 1 perfectly located in the modern growing business area across the river from Old Town, the 4-star features 199 spacious rooms, four multifunctional conference rooms, the biggest one taking up to 111 delegates. Meetings & Events centre offers the space for over 200 participants at a time with large pre-function area and Media pods- perfect point for informal meetings.
In the luxury segment, the Hotel Pacai will be the Design Hotels group’s first property in the Baltics. The 5-star hotel, expected to open in spring 2018, will be housed in a former mansion in the Old Town dating back to the 17th century and will feature 104 rooms, four meeting rooms with largest hall capacity of 110 persons in theatre seating, two restaurants and a spa area.
AccorHotels will be opening its third property in the Lithuanian capital in the summer. Ibis Vilnius Centre, located across the Neris River from the Old Town, will have 162 rooms, two meeting rooms, a restaurant and a bar.
Finally, the Radisson Blu Lietuva, also located on the bank of river Neris, is undergoing an expansion project. A new eight-storey building will open in May, adding 165 rooms and bringing the hotel’s total to 456, making it the largest hotel in the city in terms of rooms. The hotel is also home to 17 multifunctional conference rooms, which can accommodate up to 1,200 people.
